What Are The Different Battery Types Of Digital Camera?

One of the most critical accessories of a digital camera is perhaps its batteries. There are some digital cameras where the battery life is so limited that it drains with only a couple of hours’ shooting. Yet there are also digital cameras which are famous for its batter life which simply goes on and on. Thus it is important to know your camera usage methods which can then lean you on to the type of battery you will need for your camera.

There are basically two types of digital camera batteries. One is the standard AA type and the other is rechargeable. The latter is also known as a proprietary battery as it made by the same manufacturer.

A proprietary type of battery is comparatively more expensive, lighter in weight and more tight and compact. The cost makes the purchase of one or two back-ups slightly prohibitory.

The standard alkaline AA size batteries usually have a very short life – at times even less than an hour, when used in a digital camera. These batteries make good back-ups, especially if you are traveling. A better option would be to use the Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries for digital cameras, with a charger. This rechargeable option has a longer life and comes at an affordable price.

Thank Goodness For Our French Translator

I love almost everything about travel. I love the wonder and the newness of entering a culture that I have never been to before. I love meeting new people, trying new customs, and getting aquainted with the foods and drinks that people around the world love dearly. One thing, however, that I always struggle with in my travels is communication. While many people in the world speak English even if it is not their first language, I hate being the tourist that enters a new land and expects people to do things on my terms. So when I was preparing to spend a month working on a photography book in France, I was most happy to have the services of a French translator.

When my company told me that they were sending me and a team of three other photographers to France to get initial shots for a tour of France photojournalism book, I could not have been more excited. That is, until they told us that we would be staying with French people, doing French things, and learning to see France through the eyes of the native people. I was nervous about having to communicate with the French in their own language since I had barely made it through two years of high school French. My French translator was the best resource during that trip.

Our French translator was an amazing French woman that was more than happy to accompany us on the month long journey all around her native country. We met her at the airport and she never made us feel anything but safe and at home in her native land. I took a special liking to our French translator, I guess partly because she was doing the hard work of crossing the language barrier that I always dreaded about travel.

I told our French translator that while I did in fact need and want her to translate for me in most situations, I also wanted her to teach me as much French as possible during our month together. She obliged and we immediately began a month of intensive French lessons. I loved my lessons and I loved feeling like I knew way more about speaking French after just one month with a personal tutor.

Our French translator was the one who talked with me about the importance of learning foreign languages and of realizing that English was not the only language of the world. I learned so much from her that month. We became lifelong friends. I was so glad that she helped me make it through my month in France.

Viajar por placer

El periodo de viajar en avión no es la experiencia que mas disfrute. Cargar con la valija, pagar el pasaje, la sensación de encierro en el avión entre otras son los negativos de viajar. Sin embargo llegar al lugar de destino es tal recompensa que lo mencionado anteriormente deja de ser relevante.

La posibilidad de conocer nuevos horizontes es siempre un lujo que no todos pueden utilizar. Es sin duda una de mis actividades favoritas, sino la más favorita. Poder conocer otras culturas, nuevas comidas, idiomas, paisajes, negocios, restaurantes, en fin, viajar es para mi muy enriquecedor.

Si decides viajar solo, verdaderamente tiene sus ventajas. Permanentemente tienes la posibilidad de conocer alguien interesante en el avión, charlar con el pasajero a tu lado, o tropezarte con algún amigo de un amigo que se encuentra viajando en el mismo momento.

Viajar asimismo ofrece la posibilidad de desconectarse de los problemas que lo atormentan diariamente. Claro que a pesar de que uno se aleja los problemas no desaparecen, pero desde ya que puedes mirarlos con otra perspectiva y te darás cuenta que lo que lo que veías tan negro quizás es un poco gris!

Mi viaje favorito fue el que hice a Paris con mi mejor amiga. Allí, estuvimos viviendo en la zona de Le Mare, en donde por las noches salíamos a algún boliche de moda y por el día hacíamos turismo absoluto. Desde Notre Dame a Monmatre, hay un sinfín de lugares para recorrer en la ciudad.

Si eliges Europa como destino, es recomendable ir durante primavera o verano y no en invierno, ya que el frió clima y la oscuridad de la tarde no te benefician para caminar y pasear. Sin embargo en la mayoría de los lugares de Europa encontraras calefacción central para no sufrir tanto.

Hay infinidad de lugares para recorrer y viajar. Si decides ir a Italia tienes una variedad culinaria para todos los gustos. Las pastas y pizzas son increibles, y sus paisajes no dejan nada que desear!
En España, Barcelona es la ciudad turística y más cosmopolita; por otro lado Madrid tiene un estilo elegante y sofisticado.
Siempre y cuando viajes con algún compañero o compañera que tengan un estilo e idea similar al tuyo del viaje, buena energía y estén abiertos a nuevas experiencias, te aseguro que te divertirás.
