Old Alabama Town in Alabama - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

If you are interested in visiting an amazing village in the south then you must check out Old Alabama Town in Alabama. This village is made up of quite a few 19th and
20th century buildings that are authentic and have been restored to their original beauty. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, the town stretches over six blocks in the
historic downtown area of this city. That's a pretty big area and it can take up to half a day to wander around and see the architecture and all the buildings.

When you visit Old Alabama Town it is like you are walking into the late 1800s and by entering this realm you can "meet" the people who had such a huge impact on
developing this part of Alabama simply by reading about their lives and seeing where they lived and worked. Seeing how the different buildings were in their original form helps visitors see the distinct difference in lifestyle from city dwellers and those who lived in more rural areas.

More than 40 different buildings have been restored in this tiny little village and by doing so the non profit corporation in charge of it all is helping people remember the past
and learn from it for future benefits. You truly will be amazed when you visit Old Alabama Town and kids will be especially filled with wonder. That's because they can see how buildings were constructed so many years ago and give them a new appreciation for the world today.

Everyone who visits Old Alabama Town leaves with a renewed appreciation for all the hard work of our ancestors to make a better world not to mention a newfound appreciation for today's conveniences. This is a fabulous day trip for singles, families, and pretty much any tourist who would enjoy a good time learning about the past.

Italian Translation Into English - Days & Months

I have an ongoing interest in Italian English translation and Italian life in general. I hope this article Italian Translation into English - Days & Months' will help those trying to learn the Italian language. If these articles prove of interest then I will continue writing a whole series on these subjects.

Italian / English Translation of the Months of the Year
gennaio — January
febbraio — February
marzo — March
aprile — April
maggio — May
giugno — June
luglio — July
agosto — August
settembre — September
ottobre — October
novembre — November
dicembre — December

Unlike the English translation, in Italian the names for days of the week are not capitalised.

Here is an Italian English Translation of some other useful phrases;
Che mese è? - What month is it?
In che mese siamo? - What month are we in?
È dicembre - Its December
Siamo in dicembre - We are in December

Italian / English Translation of the Days of the Week
lunedì — Monday
martedì — Tuesday
mercoledì — Wednesday
giovedì — Thursday
venerdì — Friday
sabato — Saturday
domenica — Sunday

Again, unlike the English translation, in Italian the names for days of the week are not capitalised. So the translation is not only the letters but also the capitalisation.

Here is an Italian Translation of some other useful phrases;
oggi - today
domani - tomorrow
Oggi è martedì - Today is Tuesday
Domani è giovedi - Tomorrow is Thursday

For me there is another side to this translation. Mondays in England v Mondays in Italy.
Generally an English Monday is rainy and depressing. But lets translate that to an Italian Monday. Sure you still have the daily commute. But it's much more likely to be a sunny day (even in winter). So even though you might wish you were still at the beach or skiing down a mountain, you feel much more happy. Especially as you stop for a coffee and take the time to talk Italian with strangers before starting work.

How To Choose A Holiday Villa Abroad

Renting a holiday villa abroad can be a risk, particularly if you’re booking your villas online. We’ve all heard the horror stories about resort hotels that have turned out to be part-built or badly run, and we all want to avoid similar bad experiences.

Most of us now turn to the internet to look for the things that make up our holiday – flights, accommodation, car hire – and then book online, crossing out fingers that everything turns out well. What can you do to avoid a disaster when you arrive at your destination?

1. Recommendations

Booking a holiday villa in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus or anywhere else in Europe is always easier if you’ve had a property or rental company recommended to you. Talk to friends who have rented villas before and find out what sort of experiences they have had. Use their experiences to define what you do and don’t want in a holiday villa – this will help you when you are browsing through the hundreds of villas that are advertised on the internet.

2. Check out the rental company

There are a lot of villa rental companies on the internet – how do you know which are reputable and which are not? The best thing to do is to take a good look at their site, and then give them a call. No matter how wonderful the web site design is, if the staff aren’t helpful or no-one answers the phone, then it’s best to stay away. Good villa rental agencies will give you all the help and additional information you need, together with a contact number you can ring if you have any difficulties during your stay. You should also get something through the post to confirm your booking, so that you can take paperwork with you to show the agent or travel representative when you get there.

A villa holiday in Europe is a chance to relax and make the most of the location and the weather. By making a few simple checks before you commit to booking a villa, you can ensure that your holiday is truly stress-free.

Piraeus - the port of ancient Athens

Piraeus, also known as Peiraeus or Pireas, is a city located in the prefecture of Attica, towards the southern side of Athens. This city's main attraction is based on the fact that in ancient Greece, it was used as Athens' main port, and therefore it played a very important role in the city's life.

Besides than being the port of ancient Athens, Piraeus has been also named port of modern Athens since 1834. This way, nowadays this port can be seen in action, and although it does not look just like it used in ancient Greece, it still shows some of such antique characteristics which turn it into a very interesting and peculiar place to meet.

The name of this area, Piraeus, means "the place over the passage", a meaning which is very significant to its past history. In its origins as a populated area, Piraeus was a small island which was connected to the land by a narrow stretch of land. Although at first the area received other denominations, this geographical characteristic finally inspired the actual name.

Although its main port is the most famous one, Piraeus also has two other smaller harbors which have also helped turning this spot into a very active one. The benefits of this spot and its harbor was not noticed until the decade of 490 BC when Themistocles constructed a fortification by this spot with the purpose of being able t easily use the ports and protect the citizens of Athens from Persians’ attacks.

Piraeus has a population of about 175.000 people, with a density of 15.972 inhabitants per km2. IT is one of the few municipal authorities located within the metropolitan area of Athens. Besides Pireus, this metropolitan area has other municipal authorities among which we can name Keratsini, Korydalos, Drapetsona, Nikaia, Perama, and Rentis.

Piraeus has been home town of several important people, such as per example the Andrianoloulos brothers, who founded the Olympiacos sporting club, Yiorgos Batis, an important Greek musician who lived between 1885 and 1967, or Dimitris Gkogkos, an important Greek musician from beginnings of the XX century.

In The Mood For Something Different This Christmas Trip?

Where are you thinking of heading this Christmas travel season? The usual place? Well, if its been a tough year or a banner year for you you may want to either get away, away or celebrate with an atypical but exciting venue this year. Is it warm and exotic that will get you ready for 2006 or overseas for unique holiday shopping to lift you spirits? Interested in landing somehwere where you won't even hear a single Christmas carole?

Take a peak at these suggestions.

Care for a Mexican Christmas? Think Cabo or Puerta Vallarta if you want all the holds gone and warm beaches. Think Mexico City if fun yet elegant offerings are your thing.

Think Hawaii for the spa fun of it on sand clad beaches between Mai Tai's and pineapple chunks. There are great 5 day packages avaialble some several specialty tour groups since the cost is higher at this time or if offending your overbearing boss is too much.

Last minute holiday shopping can be unbelievable if you head to London, Rome, or Paris for the week before Christmas for some imported gifts. Be on the lookout in the Sunday newspaper for holiday shopping specials and take advantage of the package deals.

For more shopping and sightseeing opportunities thinkGermany for Christmas as all the outdoor activities kick it up a notch for the season. Vienna, Salzburg and Munich are famed for their markets and you can head to one or all three in one trip.

Finally, there are plenty of exotic places left in the world that do not celebrate Christmas except for the tourists they try to attract. Look to Asian countries in general but this year Vietnam seems to have a series of special packages that are attractive.

Other venues are Africa such a Nimibia and Tanzania for great holiday trips that will not feel like Christmas at home. Think of the memories!

Regardless of your choice get to checking out these destinations and book. By November a lot of the specials will be filled.

The Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Corbin, Kentucky - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

Close your eyes and imagine a waterfall pouring over the edge and falling with crashes and splashes into a gorge littered with large boulders. Then, feel the mist from the falls blowing through the breeze and kissing your face. What you are imagining is known as the "Niagara of the South", this 125 foot wide waterfall appears to be a curtain of water falling to the gorge below. No matter when you see this waterfall it is amazing and it gives off a different appearance at night and during the day.

One of the most amazing aspects of Cumberland Falls is the moon bow, which only shows up on nights when there is a full moon. That event in itself is worth visiting the falls and if you can plan a trip on a full moon then you will experience something like you have never seen. You won't find anything like this anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere so it really is worth a visit!

The best times left to visit in 2007 to see the moon bow is April 30th, May 1st-4th and 30th-31st, June 1st-3rd and 28th-30th, July 1st-2nd and 28th-31st, August 24th-28th, October 24th-28th, November 22nd-26th, and December 22nd-26th.

You can plan some other activities while you are visiting Cumberland Falls State Park in Corbin, Kentucky. Some of the most popular are canoeing and white water rafting. There are professionals who will take you out on the water if you are looking for a guide. A great place to stay is at the Dupont Lodge, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the valley. While you are in the area you may also enjoy horseback riding, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

Lake Hopatcong; A Vacation Paradise

Just when I thought I experienced the best in New Jersey’s resort destinations at the Jersey Shore, a friend suggested I visit the Lakeland area in Morris County, in particular Lake Hopatcong. This is New Jersey’s largest lake and actually is located in two counties Morris and Sussex . The towns of Roxbury, Mount Arlington, Jefferson and Hopatcong border the lake. Each of these towns although distinct in ambience, has real estate properties in common. There are beautiful homes that are affordable where many of the employees of the resort areas reside. Also available are very upscale homes overlooking the lake. Many New Jersey residents are purchasing vacation homes in these lakefront towns. The vacation homeowners use these as their summer/fall retreat and the rest of the year subsidize their income by using the property as a rental.

Lake Hopatcong offers camping, water sports, fine dining, some of the best fishing in New Jersey much more. On Sunday mornings there are sailboat regattas. Regattas are a very exciting event to witness, especially when the lake wind kicks up!

Water skiing! Lake Hopatcong is like glass in the early morning. This is the place to be for water skiing, Lake Hopatcong has many coves, which offer wonderful water skiing conditions. If you have never water-skied before, there are water ski instructors for the novice or for the beginner who wants to become an expert.

Every type of recreational boating is welcome, whether it be speed, sail or pleasure boats. And yes Patio boats are also welcome, the "party barge" is alive and well on Lake Hopatcong.

For those who really enjoy the great outdoors, there are two public beach areas and Mahlon Dickerson Reservation for camping. Many New Jersey vacationers take advantage of these accommodations and use the local marinas boat rentals got their water sports activities.

Monte Carlo – Paradise of a Different Sort

Monte Carlo is the city of glitz and over the top indulgence. I had to see it for at least a day trip and ended up finding my food paradise.

Monte Carlo Surprise

Monte Carlo is the where you go to see the pretty people. Well, maybe not pretty, but definitely wealthy. I was loafing in Nice for a few days and decided to join two travelers for a day trip to Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is only a ten minute train ride from Nice, so it seemed like the perfect day trip.

Monte Carlo is the kind of place that makes you feel insignificant. The place screams yachts, money, plastic surgery, money, Ferrari and did I mention money? This is not a travel destination for the faint of budget.

Monte Carlo is mostly about beaches, being seen and a high end casino. We had already hit the beaches in Nice, weren’t important enough to “be seen” and had been denied admission to the casino, so it was off to the museums.

Museums in Monte Carlo are pretty run of the mill with one notable exception. Spend enough time in them and you’ll become convinced the Grimaldi royal family is solely responsible for human civilization. I’ve been known to embellish on occasion, but the museums are ridiculous.

As day turned to evening, it was time to find something to eat. There were plenty of restaurants, but we either couldn’t afford them or weren’t dressed appropriately with our shorts. Walking back to the train station, we stumbled upon paradise itself.

Growing up in San Diego, California, one becomes addicted to Mexican food. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of Mexican food restaurants in Europe. In fact, I hadn’t eaten a rolled taco for two months. That was about to change.

Turning the corner on one of many endless little streets in Monaco, we were stunned to see a line of people waiting outside a door. The sign over the door read “Juan’s” and paradise was before us. Turns out the restaurant was owned by a San Diego resident and served authentic Mexican food. Rolled tacos, chicken tortilla soup and Dos Equis beer.

Mexican food in Monaco was definitely my idea of paradise. Of course, it set me back $75, but I really didn’t care at that point.

Family-Friendly Spring Break Tips

You want to take the family on a nice vacation in the Spring but you don’t want Junior to learn what “chug, chug, chug, chug” means yet. You want to have a nice “family” vacation without getting caught up in the “Girls Gone Wild” atmosphere that traditionally surrounds Spring Break. Here are some tips.

Try to take your vacation when most college students are still in school. Spring Break for college students can be from the end of February to the end of March, but most colleges have vacation the first two weeks of March. Plan your vacation after the first two weeks of March.

Avoid the traditional Spring Break college destinations: Jamaica, Cancun, Acapulco, Montego Bay, the Bahamas, South Padre Island off of the state of Texas, Daytona, South Beach, Key West and Panama City, which are all in the state of Florida. Basically anyplace warm, with sand and with beer. However you don’t have to bring your family to Nome, Alaska either. Again, the off-peak college spring break times these destinations can be great, but that doesn’t account for the high school kids who have left the parents at home.

Choose a destination that is “family friendly” such as Disney World in Orlando. There could be a few college students donning a pair of mouse ears completely wasted but since Orlando is far from the beach it is more likely to be a fluke. Look for vacations advertised as “family friendly”, a ski vacation, Disney Land in California, or a trip to Colorado or Destin, Florida as these are all good possibilities. You can also check out your state tourism web sites for ideas of where to go where the drinking age is not an issue. Check out magazines like “Family Fun” which feature family vacation destinations every month for ideas.

Finally, remember -- if you happen upon a partying college student, relax, one day it will be Junior’s turn.

Things To Know About Air Travel

While traveling by airplane is perhaps the fastest way to reach your vacation destination, it is not without its share of unpleasantness. Being aware of the common problems passengers of airplanes complain about and knowing how to deal with these can surely make your flying experience a little less disagreeable and perhaps even pleasant.

A vast number of those who partake in air travel complain about the lack of space on airplanes. Having to accommodate a profitable amount of people can often cause space limitations on airplanes and dealing with this lack of space is difficult for some. Having an isle seat is ideal if you need the legroom as it allows for stretching, but keep in mind these seats go very quickly. Many people find that traveling with a friend can help to alleviate some of the personal space invasion some people feel.

Many people get air sick on airplanes as well and while this experience can seem utterly unavoidable for those of you who are prone to motion sickness, there are ways to evade the effects of air sickness. Taking a motion sickness drug before hand can help but it must be taken before you get sick. Once sick, the best thing to do is perhaps to try and empty your stomach as this usually makes one feel slightly better. Most, if not all, planes are equipped with "barf bags" in case you do get sick.

Many other factors on airplanes contribute to the experience being less than enjoyable for some. The air quality on planes is significantly lower than it is at sea level. The air in the pressurized cabin is usually extremely dry and as such can cause great discomfort and possibly dehydration for many of the passengers. Thus it is advised you bring a lot of water with you on the flight and continue to drink it throughout. The temperature can also be rather cold and it is suggested that bringing a light coat onboard would certainly be beneficial.

How To Find A Reliable Discount Holiday Agent

Few of us book a holiday without looking for the best deals. Travel is now one of the biggest online sectors, and it’s to the internet that we turn to look for cheap holidays. There’s no shortage of sites offering extraordinary deals, but it can be difficult to know which are reliable and which aren’t. Here are some guidelines to help you tell the difference.

1. Independence

A travel agent that isn’t tied to any particular company or promoter is best placed to offer great deals. They can negotiate with a range of suppliers, or direct with airlines and accommodation owners to ensure that they get the best price for you. You can be sure that they’re not pushing you towards a particular operator and that you’re really getting good value for money.

2. Professional membership

It’s really important that a discount travel agent is a member of a professional body. In the UK, this is ABTA, the Association of British Travel Agents. ABTA members have to abide by a strict code of conduct and agencies are regularly assessed to ensure that they are meeting the organisation’s high standards. ABTA membership also means that you have a independent body to channel complaints to, should you have any problems with the agent.

3. Secure payments

If you’re booking online, it’s vital that you make sure that the site’s payment system is secure. This protects you from fraud and is an essential part of any online shopping system. If you can’t find anything on the site that gives you information on the payment system, then don’t book online.

4. Contact

A good discount holiday travel agent, whether online or on the high street, should be easily contactable and offer excellent customer service. Even at discount prices, booking a holiday is a financial commitment and you need to be sure that you can contact the agent should you need any help.

Save Time And Money On Theme Park Days

Many people, especially families, can be put off visiting big theme parks because of the costs. Once you’ve added up the entry fee, the on-site catering, the travel, the souvenirs and any other expenses, it can turn out to be an expensive day out. Here are some ways you can enjoy the thrills without counting the cost:

1. Buy tickets online

Most major theme parks let you buy tickets online and these are often cheaper than the prices at the gate. Alton Towers, the UK’s biggest theme park, charges around 20% less for online tickets than it does at the front gates, and that’s a saving that can make a big difference to your day out.

2. Take your lunch with you

Theme park catering can be expensive, and it’s not always the sort of food you want to eat. Save money by packing a picnic – there’s nearly always somewhere nice to sit and eat - and your time is better spent queuing for rides than for food. Be aware that most theme parks will want to check your bags as you go through the gates, but it’s worth 5 extra minutes there for the cost saving.

3. Think before you buy

Souvenir shops are very tempting, but stop to think before you buy something themed after every ride. Limiting your budget means that you are far more likely to buy something you really want, rather than bits and pieces that you’ll never look at or use.

4. Stay close to the park

A lot of theme parks have hotels on site, which is handy, but expensive. Instead, try a guest house or a bed and breakfast that’s close by. That way, you can stay for much less, but with the park still only a short drive away. And if you can get cheap park entry on your second day, you can make a weekend of your theme park visit for a lot less than you might think. You can also extend your stay and visit other attractions with the money you save!

Things You Should Look Out For When Buying New Luggage

There are things to consider when purchasing new luggage that can help save you in the long run. Most people only look at cost and this can be hazardous when looking at luggage. Since you normally can buy quality luggage that will last you for years, spending a little more for a good luggage set will be a good investment. That being said you do not have to spend an arm and a leg to find luggage at reasonable prices. No matter what the cost however, there are certain things to look for no matter what the price.

Durable luggage for frequent travelers like harder leathers and vinyl's might definitely be considered. Luggage that is durable will hold up longer while still keeping a good appearance even through the rough handling it receives when you check your bags.

Carry on bags will hold valuables such as money, jewelry, medicines and any other important items that you will not want to check in today traveling environment. Depending on what type of traveling you are doing, you should try to have a change of clothes and any immediate needs in this carry-on luggage that can hold you over in case your checked luggage is lost or delayed.

Most luggage manufacturers today come with consumer warranties that will cover you for a certain length of time after purchase on quality related items. But you should know just what they will or will not cover if you should need to make a claim.

Buying your luggage from a company that has been around for a while and has a good record of customer service will normally help eliminate any concerns. Romantic Weekend Getaways

Romantic weekend getaways can be a second honeymoon or your first vacation together. When you don't have the time or money for a long trip, try one of the following.

Luxuriate Together

Spending time at a nice hotel is the most obvious and common romantic weekend getaway, and with good reason. It is wonderful to be waited on and relax in a hot tub together. The best hotels for this will have a pool, a hot tub (preferably in the room) and even a lounge where you might be able to go dancing.

In Michigan, this might be the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. This is where they filmed the Christopher Reed movie, "Somewhere In Time." There are no cars, so you'll have see the island together by horse carriage.

Romantic Weekend Getaways - Outdoors

If you both enjoy getting outside, you may want to consider a camping weekend. Whether you want to really rough it, and put on the backpacks, or just rent an RV and find a beautiful park to visit, this is a great way to have some quality time together. Wherever you live, there are great outdoor destinations within a couple hours.

A great example is the Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area, near Safford Arizona. There are two hot spring pools to soak in, and millions of acres of desert to explore. My wife and I loved collecting beautiful rocks together, and sitting around the fire with fellow campers each night. We also enjoyed regular soakings in the hot springs.

Doing Something New Together

It can be very romantic to share new experiences together. Even when things don't go as planned, you are creating common memories that bring you closer together. Why not try something new this weekend?

An example of this could be mountain biking in Moab, Utah. If you live near Seattle, you might consider a guided climb up Mount Ranier together. If you are near the coasts or the Great Lakes, you could take a charter sailing or fishing trip together. Amtrak has some great scenic routes you could travel in a weekend.

Are romantic weekend getaways expensive? Sometimes, but the only requirement is that they are romantic. There is a way to get away no matter what your budget is. Why not start planning now?

How To Find The Best All-Inclusive Resort

There are all-inclusive for couples, all-inclusive build just for families, all-inclusive devoted to nudists and even an all-inclusive for plus-size people.

So how do you find an all-inclusive that is right for you? And at the same time avoid spending your honeymoon or vacation surrounded by other people's children if you don't want to? Or maybe that would be exactly what you were looking for.

Brands such as Sandals and Super Clubs first and foremost cater to adults. Other brands of all-inclusive: Breezes, Franklyn D and Beaches resorts welcome families with children. And Club Med has developed into more of a family oriented all-inclusive company, but it still has some outposts that cater especially to adult singles or couples.

The fastest way to recognize if an all-inclusive is restricted to adults is by determining if it limits guests to age 16 and older. You can typically find this information by glance over the company Web site or call the 800 reservations number.

The good thing about booking a package deal is that you get much more at a resort than just a room and a bed to sleep in.

A lot of destinations tempt travellers with a list of activities and facilities so broad that a couple couldn't possibly take advantage of them in a month. That's why it's essential to look at these deals closely. Do not get overwhelmed; just relax and keep in mind that quality counts more than quantity.

Just because some services are included in a All-Inclusive resort package does not mean that it is not factored into the all-in-one price. For instance, a couple who drinks very little may do better without a meal plan that includes all they can drink. Or what about a couple who loves to Jet Ski, they should choose a place where Jet Ski is included at no extra cost, because it is an expensive sport.

The Secret to Avoiding Vacation Scams Revealed

The economy is bad and you are already hesitant to go away on vacation, yet you know the hazards of not taking that much needed time off. You book your trip, pay your deposit, hop on a flight, and your nightmare begins!
According to the Department of Health and Human Services, consumers are defrauded out of millions of dollars every month by travel and vacation scams. These scams are usually characterized by unrealistic low prices or free or exclusive offers.
Scam-artists have many methods and techniques for depriving you of your hard earned money, but by becoming informed about how these scam-artists operate you can learn to identify when you may be getting set up and protect yourself. Here are three tips to help get you started.
Tip #1 – Be aware of the buzzwords associated with travel and vacation scams. Offers filled with buzzwords such as free, guaranteed, you're eligible to win, vacation offer, you've just won, something for nothing, last chance, today only, and so on. Don't be seduced by the words, any offer that is good, valid and mutually beneficial doesn't need to seduce the consumer. A good offer only requires an explanation of how it works and why it is mutually beneficial.
Tip #2 – Arrange your vacation trips through local, established businesses. As I said earlier, legitimate companies do provide discount vacation packages (as a result of a competitive market) and may very well offer a free vacation after so many bookings. The best way to avoid travel and vacation scams altogether is to seek out these companies rather than dealing with companies that seek out you (and your wallet).
Tip #3 – Get it in writing. The best way to verify the offer and your subsequent arrangements is to have the details in writing with the cancellation and refund policies of the company.
So long as you keep these three simple tips in mind you should have a fun and happy vacation. Enjoy your vacation and spend the time with your family and your friends and make sure that you get your well deserved break from work. Enjoy!

The great Sparta

In ancient times, Sparta was one of the most important spots in not only Greece, but the entire Europe as well. During such époque, the territory of Sparta would comprehend the regions nowadays known as Messenia and Laconia. Nowadays, only a small portion of that ancient territory continues being called Sparta, an area located towards the northern side of Laconia. Modern Sparta is situated within a fertile plain which allows it to produce citrus and olives as well as a variety of other fruits and vegetables usually distributed throughout many other towns and spots in Peloponnese.

The history of Sparta is very rich and interesting, and provides this destination with a unique charm and appealing. During Ancient Greece times, Sparta was known as the most powerful state with the major naval force in the entire country. During those times, Athens and Sparta became strong allies against the Persian invaders, although they became enemies after a while as well.

One interesting fact to know about Sparta is that it used to have two kings. During the époque in which this territory was known as the Doric State of Sparta, it had a mixed governmental state which would allow two hereditary kings to rule at the same time and with equal powers. This peculiarity has been explained through several different theories, although there is not any single one which could be completely confirmed as certain.

Sparta was seen and known within Greece as a spot of military power. This is due to the fact that most Spartans used to be trained and prepared to be soldiers, and they could only change to another profession by specific request and permission. This was applied very strictly, and those who wouldn't want to follow it would have to face hard penalties.

Nowadays, the destination known as Sparta contains many spots which allow tourists to meet the past of this territory face to face and explore many constructions, ruins, and structures which allow visitors to learn about the different aspects of this antique powerful region. Modern Sparta and its surroundings is a very interesting destination, which all those who enjoy history would find especially appealing.

The New Edition of the Rough Guide to Wales

The Rough Guides are distributed worldwide by the Penguin group and include recommendations from shoestring to luxury, covering more than 200 destinations around the globe, including almost every country in the Americas and Europe, more than half of Africa and most of Asia and Australasia. The team of authors and photographers is spread all over the world, particularly in Europe, the USA and Australia.

The Rough Guide to Wales has a new edition published less than a month ago. This is the fifth edition.

As in any good Rough Guide you can find here information about the best places to see as well as about what to avoid in Wales, the most "beguiling" parts of Britain.

In the top of the attractions compiled by the Rough Guide to Wales, you can find the south Wales valleys. Newport's transporter bridge is placed on the third position by the authors. The interesting part is that the British version of the guide book has the same opinion and describes the valleys as an "interesting and distinctive" corner of Wales. There are a lot of people saying that the area's success is due to the people who friendly and supportive and to the picturesque countryside and they bring they own experience in the area as a proof. Others are saying that what made the valleys the top attraction is the rich heritage and history of the valleys and some are thinking that the regeneration of the road networks was "ruining the area's natural beauty".

Mike Parker and Paul Whitfield, the authors of the fifth edition of the Rough Guide to Wales, are also presenting the disappointing part of Wales. Criticized parts of Wales were the town centre hotels which are "often just rooms above a noisy bar”. Other descriptions found in the guide are the "loud and lairy" Newport, the "breezy and resurgent" Swansea and the "crowning glory" of north Wales - Snowdonia.

Another point made by the authors and not to be ignored by the visitors is the warning that "The worst thing you can possibly do is call a Welsh person English". The Rough Guide to Britain also claims Welsh people are "resentful of English dominance".

Forgo The Hotel – Next Time Choose A Florida Vacation Rental

Why should you choose a Florida vacation rental the next time you’re planning a trip away from home? Because there’s nothing better than waking up to the sounds of seagulls and the breathtaking views found only along the white, powdery beaches of Florida’s Gulf of Mexico coastline. That is, of course, unless you’d rather dance into the wee hours of the morning at Miami’s hottest nightclubs and view some of the finest anatomy you’ve ever seen (even some that money can buy)! Either way, the view you’ll get of this popular tourist destination is guaranteed to be better if you see it from one of the many Florida vacation rentals that are available year-round.

Whether you visit Panama City or Destin in the panhandle, Miami or the Florida Keys in the south, or somewhere in between like the pristine beaches of Clearwater, you need not settle for a hotel when you can enjoy all the comforts of home – plus a view more spectacular than you’ve probably ever seen before – simply by choosing to stay in a Florida vacation rental.

Perhaps you prefer the solitude and roominess of a beachfront home. Or maybe you prefer to be surrounded by all the amenities that only condo life offers. And even if you prefer something in between such as a villa, town home, duplex, or triplex you’ll have no problem locating the perfect accommodations. And with rates that are comparable to what you’ll pay for an ordinary hotel room, choosing a Florida vacation rental makes financial sense, too.

Yes, there’s a Florida vacation rental that’s just right for you. The trouble is, you’ll likely be so comfortable that you won’t want to leave. And that’s okay. Florida is the one state that will beckon you back with open arms year after year!

Silverjet

As every flyer knows, the standard economy class on long haul airlines seems to be getting worse. Whilst airlines vary slightly in the available seat pitch most would say that the "sardine" class is only just acceptable.

Economy class provides precious little leg room and there is not much chance of being comfortable, especially if the passenger in front reclines their seat. Passengers over 6ft tall will have to beg at checkin in the hope of getting an emergency exit seat.

Recently, airlines have been concentrating on bringing the more expensive classes to the masses. Airplanes have increased number of "premium economy" seats and the competition between airlines has meant that the fare costs are coming down and at the same time the comfort improving.

Another new focus in the airline industry is the addition of carriers that specialize in just one class of seat on the entire aircraft - business class. These business class airlines are a new threat to traditional carriers and serve to keep the level of comfort up and the ticket prices down.

Airlines such as MaxJet, Eos Airlines and the new SilverJet offer trans-atlantic business class seats with benefits such as large pitches, wide comfortable seats that recline into flat beds, fine gourmet dining, superior entertainment systems, plenty of space, superior onboard service, private terminals, executive lounges and even chauffeur transfers at a very reasonable cost.

Business class on these new airlines is perfect not only for business travelers but also for honeymooners, leisure trips and for those flying to join a cruise.

If you are to fly transatlantic soon and you fancy paying a little more to elevate yourself out of economy, you should definitely get quotes for flying premium economy on the traditional airlines and then get quotes for business travel on these new business-only carriers. You will be surprised to find that they are are often not much more expensive.

Want To Start Your Own Business In 2006? Get Into The Travel Industry

While the economy has been good to some people, it has been less than stellar for others. Many people are feeling squeezed between high energy prices and jobs that are always cutting back.

NOW may be exactly the right time to start your own home-based business. Unlike a traditional brick and mortar business, you don't need to borrow thousands to get your home-based business started. You won't need to rent an office, hire employees, or even pay much tax.

The next question is, what kind of business should I get into? Let me suggest you take a good, hard look at the travel industry. It's simply the largest business in the world, accounting for more than $5 TRILLIION in sales each year -- and growing by a whopping 25% annually.

Now it doesn't take a CPA to know you can make a great home-based income even you just get the crumbs off that $5 Trillion table. And new developments in the travel industry are making that easier than ever.

Vast groups of vacationers are joining together to create unprecedented bargaining power. Airlines, hotels, resorts, and golf courses are always in hot competition with each other. When a large association of vacationers shows interest, these vacation companies offer their best deals.

The association will say "We'll tell our members to buy from you -- IF you'll give us your best deal." A luxury hotel, for example, will often let members stay for just $200 to $400 PER WEEK.

Combine those super low travel rates with the vast number of people who are vacation these days, then mix in all the cold weather we've been seeing nationwide, and you've got a stampede of new prospects to tropical vacation destinations.

Base your new home-based business on that huge trend and you'll earn some serious cash in 2006.

Sweden Travel – Stockholm and Karlskrona

Known as the land of Vikings, Sweden is actually an odd mix of cosmopolitan cities and vast stretches of wide-open spaces. For budget travelers, Sweden is a bit expensive.

Stockholm

An incredibly beautiful city in the summer, Stockholm is the Venice of Northern Europe. Like Venice, Stockholm is built on the water with canals and waterways criss crossing the city. Instead of marshland, Stockholm is actually a collection of dozens if not hundreds of little islands.

Despite the beauty, Stockholm can seem a bet sterile for a big city. Large parts of the city seem to be devoted completely to either providing working spaces or residences. With a little digging, however, you’ll find the city has much to offer.

To get a taste of the real Stockholm, throw away your travel guide and head to the Sodermalm area. Sodermalm predates the modern areas of the city and provides a glimpse into the past. In the neighborhood, you’ll find authentic old pubs, hole in the wall shops selling all manner of strange things and artist enclaves. During the summer, Sodermalm has plenty of outdoor cafes and a friendly feel.

Karlskrona

If naval history is your thing, Karlskrona gives even St. Petersburg a run for the money. The entire city has been designated a historical site and is rife with the naval history of Sweden. Attractions include naval museums, submarines and a variety of ships from differing eras.

While naval history dominates Karlskrona, the city has much more to offer in atmosphere. The older sections of the city have a heavy baroque style whether for architecture, streets or epic park areas. There isn’t anything particular to point out, but it is a good city to relax in during the summer. If you need a couple of days off from racing around Europe, Karlskrona is a good place to recharge.

Like all of the Nordic countries, Sweden is visually stunning during the summer. While the long days give you plenty of opportunity to roam, high prices can put a crimp in the ol’ travel budget.

Patpong - Nightlife Entertainment in Bangkok

Patpong is renowned for its go-go bars, discos and late night "constellations." Despite it's somewhat unsavory reputation, it's remarkably safe to visit - though it's as well to stick to the downstairs bars, as some of the upper floor establishments have been known to overcharge. Soi Patpong 1 has a few go go bars but is mainly a shopping street where foreign couples shop and drink. Soi Patpong 2 has numerous smaller beer bars (ba bia in Thai), as well as a row of karaoke establishments and the most popular restaurants on the strip. Soi Patpong 3, an unassuming dead-end lane, is more of a gay venue. The strip comes alive in the early evening, but with the exception of a handful of constellations is more-or-less closed down by 1am. Although sex is for sale in Patpong, the area is much more than just a red light area, being frequented by young Thais and foreign visitors who dance, talk and dine into the small hours.

What to see tonight?
• Ping Pong Show
• Black Marker writing from pussy
• Big neon string pulled from pussy (2-3 meter)
• Water transfer from bottle to bottle
• Dropping weird neon light balls in to a cup
• Naked Dancing
